Los tribunales ingleses están rodeados de un fuerte contenido litúrgico desde sus orígenes medievales: togas, pelucas, hermosas Salas de Audiencia, sus ritos… todo ello separa ese mundo de los otros que conocemos del Continente. Con esta estética combinan sabiamente la lejanía física y simbólica y la proximidad humana en los justiciables. Esta investigación trata de demostrar como, a veces, es conveniente poner ciertas distancias, barreras porque precisamente facilitan el contacto humano, la comunicación entre todos los sujetos procesales. La diferencia con el sistema español introducido por la Ley del Jurado es abismal.
