LIBERDADE COMO NÃO DOMINAÇÃO E POLÍTICAS ANTITRUSTE
Resumo
O artigo versa sobre as implicações do republicanismo de Philip Pettit para o mercado. Mais precisamente, testa-se a coerência da sugestão de que o ideal da liberdade como não dominação é compatível com o mercado, mas requer medidas de combate a monopólios. Apesar da originalidade da abordagem republicana para o tema do mercado (em sintonia com concepções relacionais de justiça), argumenta-se que as suas implicações para as políticas antitruste são duvidosas. Primeiro, não está claro que os monopólios sejam um caso de dominação. Segundo, mesmo que o sejam, há razões para duvidar que o republicanismo requeira políticas antitruste indiscriminadamente agressivas.
