Abstract

This article aims, from the exposition of the work of thinkers linked to the Scottish Enlightenment, to contribute to the reflection and study of topics of current relevance linked to fields of knowledge such as law in general, and private law in particular. For the elaboration of this analysis, a data search was carried out in works by the aforementioned thinkers and equally on writers in the area. Due to the fact that many of these works are originals in English, it was necessary to expose the translation of the analyzed texts, and any errors related to this should be credited to this author. Due to the constant relevance of the themes exposed in the works of these thinkers; such as law and morality, this historical rescue is believed to be a contribution to today's studies. It is important to highlight that, despite having originated in a specific nation and in a specific period of time, the reflections presented reveal a timeless and universal importance.    This research now developed revealed extremely valuable doctrines obtained from reliable databases and the subsequent effort to read the works obtained therefrom. It is hoped that this historical rescue mentioned above will contribute to the search and knowledge of these legacies so important and relevant to the generality of the doctrine and practice of law and morality, fields of knowledge that have needed a constant and permanent study, in view of the demands and the challenges of a social order of the current times.
